I played a few good games last night with Loop, but after i left our hardcore server, he came on xfire telling me that he had been kicked by punkbuster, so today i updated it, but it got me thinking. Punkbuster (as you'll all agree) is far from perfect, its kicked players from the COD4 hardcore server at a rate of 1 every 2minutes, its kicked me several times for my name/init failure/blah blah blah, it ruined my saturday night at Axis3000 sof2 server last week after i was kicked for several different reasons in the same night, it lags my game in both COD4 and SOF2 to a point that i just turn off whatever i'm playing, in short IT'S WANK.
Why can't the devs sort this out, surely they could include some sort of anti cheat device, lately i havent played as much as i used to because i'm pissed off with getting kicked by a program that doesnt work well, and we all know its not impossible for players to cheat on a PB enabled server, for f**ks sake you can RENT cheats from coders nowadays! Sof2 v1 runs SO MUCH BETTER than pb enabled Gold its untrue, BUT, there a quite a few noobhackers who in my opinion get caught out eventually anyway, but then again having PB doesnt help much nowadays so why is it still being bundled with new releases? Personally i think PB is a waste of drive space.
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR rant over.

Im just moaning cos i have spent all day defragging and virus/spyware checking and deleting stuff i dont need in the hope that COD4 will run better cos its started running really crap lately, i'd be running around and then goto shoot someone and the frames would drop to like half what they are normally. Ive recently installed XP pro, updated everything, ran pb setup god knows how many times, and its still the same, hell i even took the heatsink off the cpu and vacuumed inside my pc hoping it was just overheating a bit, but nope.

Turning shadows off sorted my fps troubles, never used to get them though. I see from your xfire profile you have roughly the same cpu as me could be the same problem i had and shadows fixed it.
