MUNICH, May 30 (Reuters) - Bayern Munich have agreed a deal to sign Italy striker Luca Toni from Fiorentina for €11 million, the Bundesliga club announced on Wednesday.
The 30-year-old Toni, an important part of Italy's victorious World Cup squad in Germany last year, will join on a contract running until 2011, Bayern said.
'The transfer fee is exactly €11 million,' Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said.
Toni has played at Fiorentina for the last two seasons, scoring 49 goals.
The tall striker missed the end of the season because of a foot injury that required surgery. That injury has also ruled him out of the Italy squad for June's Euro 2008 qualifiers in the Faroe Islands and Lithuania.
Bayern are carrying out a significant rebuilding plan after missing out on a place in the Champions League.
Toni is the fifth confirmed signing for the new season after Hamit Altintop, Jan Schlaudraff, Jose Ernesto Sosa and Marcell Jansen.
The club are also interested in French international Franck Ribery.
