After too many headaches with my pc i have gone a brought a 360 elite, got it with assasins creed,forza 2 and halo3.
I havent setup a gamertag yet but i will post here once i do so you can add me if you wish ;D

i've just brought an xbox also meat!! not elite but the premium for 189 and i got Skate by EA and next month i will be getting halo 3 and GTA

Hmm Im thinking about buying a 360 too but I'm afraid that I will only play a month, then when I have to buy Live I will stop. We'll see, 360 is getting old now and who knows when the next console is out there on the market. It's not like you can upgrade your console.

impluse buy more than anything for me. Have been thinking about it for a wihile now but i decided to go for it. I think also that i'm not going to ever have to worry about ram upgrades, buying a game and not knowing if my pc can handle it. PC cause more problems than it's worth. give it another 5 months and my whole machine will be obsolete i bet.

I have no idea what kind of nub PC you have and had before as I have never had that much trouble with my PC's. It is true though, buy a brand new PC today and it takes no more then 18 months until it's 'old'.

Next time there is a big console comming I will probably get it if I am still interested in gaming.

I have played abit on 360, PS3 and Nintendo Wii and I must say that PC is still the best.

even if a pc lasts only 18 months i think it is still worth the extra ,buy the time you buy a console and all the games you aint looking far off the same money i have a xbox 360 and my child has a wii and still pc gaming is by far in my opionion far better espesially for multiplayer games but each to there own the will is more fun than the xbox360

Ill keep out of this one but will say i can build a pc for £450 witch will play most games out there with most settings on full and thats the price of a ps3 .
(about to do one for £240 and it'll run well but do have some parts .

I see where most of you are coming from saying pcs can do anything but we still have our pcs and i just choose to game on the 360 the advantages are so much greater.

Yes games cost more, yes you need a HDTV to get best results but no more driver updating, no more installing games no more 300mb+ patches to download.
Games look 10x better than they did on my pc (maybe down to my shitty hardware) but overall the experience knocks my pc out of the water / rant over.

Clare brought me cod4 today for the 360 and the patch took less than 5 seconds to download and install and im only on 4mb internet so it must have been tiny in size.

As its unlike me to have an opinion (looks around innocently).

PC games look way better sorry but they really do . oo look im over 1024
Fps are way better yes its true again .
Keyboard and mouse wins over them clacky hand thingys . (i know you can add now with ps3 but not sure for xbox . (or how many games are sported , not really that straight forward if you sitting in front of the tv .
No of players online way more and numbers in game oo look 64 players not 16 hehe (sets up bait)
Games last longer fact played sof for far to long never touched my xbox in years .


Now what a console dose for you .
Over priced games and a lot of well over rated ones (GTA / halo to name a couple)

Best for sports games platforms (Zelda still in my best ever top 3 games)

More family friendly may even get the gf / wife interested (not sure if thats a good thing but it would have to be after the soaps anyway and after shes cleaned the house done the dishes and cooked and told you some crap you don't really need to know hehe (sitting with pan on me head oo wait I'm single yay no beating).

To be honest there is a place for both i play any game that i like the look of and have consoles and pc just prefer pc .
The thing i find with pc over console is playability games last longer .

Just have fun as thats what its all about .

didn't want to get you all hot headed lol. still love my pc, amazing graphics, great gaming (you'll never beat the keyboard and mouse) but i do think xbox is a way more sociable way to game, you can get friends over n play together and it's got all the online features you'd ever want. and i must say i think it's worth paying to go online. for sure.

it's cheap at the end of the day.

Arrr what the hell do i want my friends in my house for pissh . as i said if all you want is a group of Friends play games then yes but i hate football games and car gamrs all things i played 10 years ago on my saga and i don't like people sheesh (should know that by now).

I speak to friends every night on my pc so that ones covered and having to pay twice to go on line is just wrong (as you pay for the line as well) when a lot of the servers lag big time i now a lot have complained about this ask tam about tf2 on xbox live arrrrr .

I honestly can say xbox live dose nothing to excite me some single players yes id like to play but on line pc all the way .

I agree with the controllers being shit for fps games but they work for racing games which the pc seems to lack, well apart from the dated toca and GTR2.

Graphics wise, you wouldnt be saying pc looked better if you saw my pc lol my pc struggles with anything over 1024*768 whereas my xbox is running 720P/1080i with no framerate issues.
I'm not saying pcs are bad for gaming or that the 360 are better just that for the price of them its hard to get a pc for the same price that can perform better.

I do agree that the contoller is not always the best for fps, but u can get better at it. like anything i guess. still the keyboard/mouse will always beat the controller for fps.

Console vs PC, interesting..

Each one has its advantages and disadvantages. Personally i prefer PC. I dont have an xbox or PS3 and dont plan to get.
Console main advantages is lower cost, simplicity and playing with friends while sitting in your couch. For me those are not so important to sacrifice higher graphic quality and easier access on online servers to a console that will be there a year and then will be uselless.
