The latest werewolf movie is Skinwalkers, which has already been released in the US and is expected in Europe this summer. It tells of two rival packs; one who believe werewolf and man can live together peacefully and the other which believes werewolves should embrace their animalistic instincts. Trapped in the middle is 12 year old Timothy who may just be the key to everyone's troubles, having been born a half-breed. Containing elements of the Russian hit Day Watch, as well as Underworld and Blade, Skinwalkers promises to be this summer's event movie. Stan Winston (Terminator, Jurassic Park) and his studio provide the mostly prosthetic effetcs, although a moderate ammount of CGI will be involved. According to Winston; "For years, I haven't seen a good werewolf movie. Not for twenty years, since Rick Baker did An American Werewolf in London, and Joe Dante did The Howling. Then we went off on a tangent. Don't get me wrong, I have a strong affinity for Digital Effects. But everyone is doing that. And we have lost that sense of humanity."
