Denzel Washington's charater invesigates if Meg Ryan's character should be the first woman to be awarded the medal of honor for combat. The movie takes place 6 months after the end of gulf war 1 and the action sceens are from that war. During his investigation Washington is haunted by what he himself did in that war. The plot gets going when 2 members of ryan's chopper crew go missing and another kills himself.
