OK Copperhead review as promised.
First of all im gonna bitch
1. The 4 buttons on each side of the mouse are to me either very hard or completely impossible to press without some kind of "finger yoga" or "plastic finger extensions". The sides of the mouse are curved inwards with 2 buttons either side and my thumb sits naturally into it, but this causes a problem with my thumb accidentally pressing one of the buttons each time i pick the mouse up while im gaming (i tend to keep my wrist in one position and move my hand, picking up the mouse if i venture too far to the right). I like one of the buttons on the left to change from primary to secondary gun in COD4, but as you can imagine everytime i pick the friggin mouse up i change weapon
2. If you look at the picture i took of it you can see a blue rubber strip on each side, while these are perfect for me to grip the mouse they also stick out WAY too far and impede the pressing of the side buttons, because of the way i hold the mouse i cannot reach the two buttons on the right hand side (hence the reason why Pie said i might wanna cut the rubber down slightly) I'm afraid after spending 45 quid on a mouse it will be a few months before i start "modding" it.
3. The mouse 1 and mouse 2 buttons are a great shape, but unfortunately quite a few times i have had to press them more than once to get a click, this might be a fault with the actual mouse itself and not a design flaw, if it continues it's going back to the shop.
4. The problem i had with my old mouse was while dragging the mouse very slowly across the mat, the pointer on-screen wobbled and didnt follow the path of the mouse, this happens with my new mouse but seems only to be a hair or dust stuck to the laser lense and a quick blast of bad breath sorts it out, again prolly not a design flaw but down to my mat never getting brushed off and my cat liking to sit on it (the mat i mean )
Ok positives now
1. I luv the reponsiveness of it, its so damn fast.
2. i luv the scroll wheel, light enough to use quickly but not too light so you roll it accidentally, best scroll wheel ive used.
3. I luv the weight of it, not too light and flimsy but also not too heavy to use for long periods, perfect for me.
4. Cosmetically (which doesnt really matter as my hand covers it 99% of the time but anyway) i think it looks great and is easy to find out the corner of my eye while playing in darkness, and the "Razor" logo on the top flashes slowly, a lovely touch i might add.
All in all the Razor Copperhead is a great mouse, quality all the way but because of those stupid rubber strips on the side that stick out too far (can be easily remedied with a dremmel) im giving it.....
4/5
