I just thought that I would share this bit of info with any noobs like myself on my first headset. It can be a pain to buy as there are so many choices out there and every "computer" shop you go into, as soon as you mention for teamspeak and online gaming, their eyes light up and you are guided to the most expensive selection in the store with comments like, this is what you want sir....it has this and that and multi whatever it is called.
Screw that! As a first time gamer with Teamspeak, I just wanted something that i could use while gaming without breaking the bank as I did not know what I was looking for.
After a fair bit of nosing around various places I finally decided to go with my current headset from argos mainly because it was cheap at ~£15-00 and seemed to have all the basics that I would require.
It is a Mikomi Headset. Connection is through USB and the cabel is 3m long with a voume adjust half way along. THis is grand for my laptop but I have not tried it out with a desktop under the desk yet so I do not know how easily accessable the volume is then.
Comfortable headband design with adjustable speakers. The speakers have cushioning and padding around them which makes then very comfortable to wear. The boom mike is adjustable and swings upwards out of the way when not in use.
I also use these most of the time as they are good for listening to music while I work and excellent for when using the laptop in public places and in the library as they also reduce noise from the surroundings when worn.
So in summary, price was £14-99. Connection via USB. Inline volume control. Comfortable to wear and boom mike adjustable in all directions.
Definately reccommended for the new player.
