first my budget was 200€ for my GC so i had to choose between nvidia 8600GTS(asus-stalker edition) or ati 2600xt(asus) or ati x1950xt(sapphire) but i think i will earn a little bit more so now i have to choose between 8800GTX by asus or ati 2900xt 1G DDR4 by sapphire. my CPU will be a C2D E6400 or AMD 64x2 5600+ dunno.

i heard bout it but they are as expensive as an Ultra, and perfs aren't same (lower) moreover it's not really noiseless, and sometimes makes more noise than a fan ATI RADEON HD 2900XT 1Go : Chipset : Radeon HD 2900XT CPU clock : 743 MHz PCI-Express 16x 1024 Mo Type : G-DDR4 clock : 2000 MHz bus : 512 bits HDMI 1.2 HDTV HDTV 1920 x 1080p DirectX : 10 OpenGL : 2.0 CrossFire™ Avivo™ High Dynamic Range shader model 4.0 Nvidia GeForce 8800GTX : GeForce 8800 GTX CPU clock 575 MHz PCI-Express 16x Mémoire 768 Mo Type : G-DDR3 clock : 1800 MHz bus : 384 bits DVI-I RAMDAC : 400 MHz max : 2048 x 1536 at 85 Hz (VGA), 2560 x 1600 (Dual-Link DVI) HDTV DirectX : 10 OpenGL : 2.0 SLI™ PureVideo™ High Dynamic Range Shader Model 4.0

heres my 2 bits If you want a dx10 card go nvidia if you want dx9 ati its as easy as that the dx10 ati cards are not as good as there dx9 cards as theres no xtx yet . as for drivers ati are stonking for dx9 a lot les problems than Ive heard for the 8800 BUT the 8800 is the best card on the market at moment ok thats the top end one .it even beats the 1024 meg 2900 but its all by margins never as big as they make it out . I have the 1950xtx (would like another but still 300 quid for same card) . Saying all this there are a lot better mother boards for the nvidia cards . If last crimbo (when i upgraded) was now id go nvidia and i hate the company ..... For that sort of cash all the cards are nice choose one put in google and find a review on that card thats what i normally do .
But as i said 8800s are full proof at moment .
