They tried same in UK but after interviewing Heli they decided that nobody would believe anyone was that stupid so the show got cancelled...

LOL I can't believe some people are that stupid. But yeah they only showed the dumbest responses. It's just for laughs. Showing people giving the right answers would defeat the purpose of the segment. The thing is people around the world have high expectations of Americans since the USA is the most developed, richest and dominant country. If you asked any average person on the streets of any other country they would come up with something really stupid too. But there is some truth about the average American having a lack of general knowledge. Alotta people just don't give a f**k about knowing anything outside America. And that attitude starts from the schools here. I would say more but I'll stop here for now.

Maybe the problem is the size of the country, 4 time zones for christ sake. When I visited Florida the Hotellier asked us what part of USA we were from lol. You think USA is the most developed? Socially or Scientifically? i think he meant scientifically. socially i would say germany is the non plus ultra our social system works great and alot of countries admire us cause of it |

lol heli...they asked ya what part of the country you're from? wow, even with your accent? yeah i bet if it were me they would've thought i'm a japanese tourist.  i dunno about germany since i haven't been there before. but i have heard some good things though like the beerfest and sex parade lol. america is the most developed in certain things like when it comes to technology and like you said, scientifically. you could pretty much get anything you can think of here which is why a lot of americans are generalized as being arrogant and having a "if i can get anything here why should i care knowing about the rest of the world" attitude. a lot of things like good cars, clothes, music, electronics, games and so on are also really affordable when they cost a bomb overseas. america being the "new world" is unique and much of it's success is because of immigrants from all over the world. people think america's like what they see on tv but the downside that many don't know is there are certain areas, cities and states that are so backwards. there are actually "third world countries" here. as diverse as it is and there's pretty much every race in the world here in the big cities, all the racial groups are so separated which was a lil unexpected for me when i first moved here. |
