I hate how you think you know how to do.
First of all, we get free laptops from school it aint no old PC's there for you to use. In order to get MSN to work you got to be administrator, which is no prob. Just boot up with a CD and press a few buttons.
Then you are admin and can install whatever you want, internet works just fine at home.
When you get to school it resets your administrator powers, you become a regular user when you sign in on the school network, then the Firewall keeps the doors close. If you manage to get trough Swift I will give my laptop to you, we are like 800 nerds in school and none so far managed to deal with it.
